God Loves Us Enough To Tell Us the Truth

Unjust Criticism and Unjust Praise are both damaging. It's important that we understand the kind of praise and constructive criticism Christians should expect from God. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #devotions

We don't need undeserved praise any more than we need undeserved criticism...

Some people are unjustly critical, no matter how good a job we’ve done.

Others are unjustly positive, no matter how poorly we’ve done.

We’d rather have undeserved praise. But it’s just as empty and pitiful as undeserved criticism. Both deceive us. Neither is loving.

People also tend to see God as either unjustly critical or permissively positive.

Neither is true. God sees our strengths and our sins and addresses both.

He doesn’t want to discourage us nor pump our pride (James 4:6). His goal is our purity, and He loves us enough to tell us the truth (2 Corinthians 7:1).

If you never hear the Lord’s rebuke or encouragement, you probably aren’t listening.

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.” ~ Jesus, Revelation 3:19

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~ Jesus, John 14:27
